Calm Foreboding

A painting which explores the juxtaposition of a calm sea, gently lapping the shore but with angry skies approaching.

It is a study of the reflection of the light from the sky onto the mirror which is the sea.

It is a metaphor inviting the viewer to “scroll up” from calm to foreboding or to “scroll down” from foreboding to calm.  The fingers of the sea point to what is to come or perhaps are attempting to escape it?
